meet little cherish mark…

July 24th, 2008 by Denise

Yesterday’s first Cherish session with young Mark and mum, Suzanne, was fabulicious! What a cool pair, so totally relaxed and comfortable with Mike and I - what a great way to spend the day.

After attending to our own two children, we made our way over to Suzanne and Mark in sunny Beckenham. Although Suzanne and I have spoken on the phone, this was the first time we had met. Once we had settled in and felt confident Mark was happy to be photographed by us, we headed off to the lounge where we did a tad of furniture re-arranging and started with our signature sofa shot. Mark just kicked back and relaxed whilst being entertained by mum and photographed by me.

With the weather so fine, we made our way out to the fully stocked balcony (am I sounding like an estate agent - hope not) for more shots of Mark. He lapped up the fresh air and co-operated wonderfully as Mike also started photographing. Whilst outside, Mike suggested more variety in the garden, so that’s where we made off for.

Mark showed off his balancing act and sat up unassisted for a short time, with mum in the background ready to lend a helping hand if necessary.

With teeth threatening their way out, it was apparent that Mark was feeling uncomfortable at the least. Once back upstairs, we did some lovely shots on the bed, where we experienced the wonder of “Teether” - a homeopathic teething powder that gave Mark instant relief from his painful gums. Wow, I think I’ll pack a pack of that in my Boda Bag!

After a full on photo session, Mark had Mike gently stroke his hair until he fell asleep in the most relaxed position, which left Mike, Suzanne and I to share in recalling the hysterics of our English Humour.

Before we headed off, Mark awoke to give us a great big smile and thank you for a lovely session. Now I’d like to thank Suzanne and Mark for being great sports yesterday and choosing imageXperience.

Keep checking back for images from this super shoot.

Have we been busy or have we been busy? There’s just so much to share and I’m just about bursting at the seams to give it all away and dish everything, however, this is where patience really does come into play.

We’re currently looking for the new face for our brand new shimmering golden wall of fame.

signature sofa…

June 29th, 2008 by Denise

I’ve been meaning to post a bit of background to the emergence of the signature sofa images and the inspiration for these.

About 12-18 months ago I became aware of a top children’s photographer in the States called Audrey Woulard. Her work is great and very inspirational - in fact, Audrey is my inspiration for the cute baby signature sofa shots with my personal touch.

Having shot so many white background images, I was in urgent need of a change, a bit of a makeover if you like, because I like something that is a little different - even quirky. With my designer leather sofa, it seemed the obvious answer to the obvious white background dilemma…

1 baby (or more) + 1 designer leather sofa + 1 quirky photographer = 1 cool image!

When I visited Megan for her ‘at-home’ Cherish session, my eyes immediately lit up when I saw the sofas. Again, I could see the image in my minds eye and it was just working for me.

Now it’s time to rekindle my working relationship with my designer swivel leather recliner - after all, it’s accommodated the bottoms of the gorgeous Harvey formerly of So Solid, hunky Chucky Venice of Footballers Wives, R&B diva Keisha White, little big Aml formerly of The Bill and household children’s presenter Reggie Yates.

There you go, a bit of background as to the inspiration for the signature sofa shots.

meet little cherish isabella…

June 27th, 2008 by Denise

Photographing little Isabella was just what I needed before a hectic and tiresome move - a move that has taken up all of this week and prevented me from blogging this gorgeous little princess - I’ll blog more on the move later.

Kirsti (Isabella’s mummy) contacted me after Nicola told her about their fab ‘at-home’ cherish session, even before seeing the images of little cherish Megan and her siblings. Kirsti is just my kind of gal, really laid back and chilled out, although just like me, is keen to see results - ie, images of little ‘Bella.

Little ‘Bella was a good sport and as all good little girls should, she let us know when she’d had enough of posing for the lady with the big black camera - that’s me. The first image shows how relaxed ‘Bella can be, as she takes a moment to have a cuddle with mummy.

Thank you for choosing imageXperience Kirsti, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and photographing ‘Bella. Looking forward to seeing you again and meeting Will at your Preview.
